Is This Re-gathering to Israel A Fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy?

Is This Re-gathering to Israel A Fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy?

Something remarkable happened in secret a few weeks ago. Quietly, stealthily, without fanfare or ceremony, some of the last remaining Yemenite Jews were evacuated from war-torn Yemen and relocated to Israel.

As I write these words, you might be able to count the remaining Jews of Yemen—a people who can trace their Jewish roots all the way back to the original sons and grandsons of Jacob—on the fingers of two hands.

Prior to the founding of Israel, Yemen had been home to hundreds of thousands of Jewish people for millennia. Synagogues dotted the land. After the founding of Israel, a huge wave made Aliyah to Israel.

Even so, many others attempted to carry on the extraordinarily deep Jewish traditions rooted in this ancient land at the southern tip of the Arabian peninsula. Now, in the face of daily persecution and a vicious civil war, even the most stubborn of these are ready to come “home.”

Nineteen of Yemen's last remaining Jews arrived in Israel two weeks ago in a clandestine operation. Among them walked a rabbi carrying an 800-year-old Torah scroll which has been handed down through many generations.

The re-gathering of the “exiles of Israel” continues, just as Isaiah 11:11,12 foretold:

It will also come about in that day that my Lord will again redeem— a second time with His hand— the remnant of His people who remain from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and from the islands of the sea . . . and gather the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth. God’s preservation and re-gathering of the dispersed of Israel is a testimony of His faithfulness and the reliability of Bible prophecy.

He has sustained His people through famine, dispersion, persecution, and attempted genocide. Now He is actively re-gathering them before our watching eyes.

Of course, this ongoing re-gathering to Israel is very much a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Keeping you and others informed about these prophetic developments and equipped to live prudently and victoriously in these volatile last days is at the heart of our mission here at Jewish Voice.

Your gifts of support help make that possible, but they do so much more. You are helping bring life-giving humanitarian aid to needy communities of Jewish people among the scattered Tribes of Israel in places like Ethiopia and Zimbabwe. You are helping share the Gospel of Yeshua (Jesus) around the world to the Jew first and also to the nations. Thank you!
