Iran Makes Nuclear Threat, Israel Responds... All of Us Must Take Action

May 17, 2019

It’s no secret that Iran has backed and supported terror organizations for decades. Especially those who seek the utter destruction of Israel. Most specifically, today, terror groups like Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

And while all of us have been skeptical of reports that indicate Iran’s compliance with nuclear sanctions, the reality that Iran has removed any attempt of hiding its violent intentions has made the threat even more significant.

Iran’s Nuclear Declaration Should Move All Of Us To Action

Our hearts are consistently burdened to pray for the peace of Israel: for the people and families who are caught in the crossfire of terrorism, for the wisdom and strength of Israeli leaders and for God to move and change the hearts of leaders who embrace ideologies of terror and violence.

But the burden to pray has been even more acute in the previous weeks as flare-ups along the Gaza boundary erupted, and the skies over Israel were set on fire as extremist forces launched a barrage of rockets, forcing Israel to counter and defend herself and her people.

Do you want to know how to pray for Israel in greater detail and depth? Jewish Voice Ministries has put together this Intercessory Prayer Guide for Israel that provides focused, targeted requests to help you pray for the nation of God’s People. We hope this prayer guide can help both Messianic Jews and Christians pray their support for Israel.

The latest reports indicated over 700 rockets had been launched. Four people were confirmed dead. While many more had been injured.

And now with Iran’s announcement to continue the development of its nuclear program, it’s obvious the flare-ups over the last few weeks could be the initial tremors of all-out war in the area.

Already, in just a few hours after Iran’s threatening announcement, Israel declared its firm resolve.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will not allow Iran to attain nuclear weapons.

“We will continue to fight our enemies and will strike our roots even deeper in our homeland,” Prime Minister Netanyahu continued. “The events of the last few days show clearly what our struggle is about – about the efforts of those who seek our harm, who want to destroy our country and uproot us from our land.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu even declared that Israel would be willing to stand alone against the threat if forced.

Our Struggle Is Against Spiritual Forces

And while we will stand with Israel against this ensuing threat, we know this threat is really against a bigger, darker and even more deadly threat – against an enemy we can’t see with our human eyes.

The Scripture is clear: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12 NIV).

So please continue to stand with us, and with Israel, through prayer. Especially during this season when tensions are quickly escalating to a near breaking point.

When you give today, your support will be put to work immediately to provide:

  • Humanitarian aid to Jewish people in Israel and around the world
  • Holocaust survivor support
  • Critical ministry outreach in Israel

But more than that, through all of these efforts, your generosity will help share the message of Yeshua (Jesus) and the hope and peace He brings to the world and to individual hearts.
