Prayer Points: Your prayers needed now: 2 special outreaches

October 21, 2026

Homegrown Outreach, Start to Finish

Two extraordinary Outreaches are happening this month: one in Ethiopia, going on now, and one in Zimbabwe next week. What makes these Outreaches so special is that local Messianic leaders are running them from start to finish. They have planned the events and will conduct them, with financial support from Jewish Voice.

Jewish Voice is sending two staff members to each Outreach to observe, support, and help if asked. It’s exciting to see this homegrown indigenous ministry take place.

Please join us in praying for these two Outreaches.

2026 Ethiopia Jewish Community Outreach

October 19–25

The Beta Avraham Messianic Congregation (BAMC) is putting on the first local congregation-run Outreach in Ethiopia, and will serve the Beta Abraham Jewish community in the Kechene neighborhood in North Addis Ababa. The Kechene Jewish community is often referred to as the Beit Abraham, meaning "House of Abraham," one of the Scattered Tribes of Israel. BAMC is inviting 100 people from the community to the congregation for lunch and fellowship every day for seven days. BAMC pastors will mingle with these neighbors and offer to pray with them. It is a non-medical, food distribution Outreach.

Please Pray

Bill and Rabbi Tim (JVMI staff joining this Outreach, no international partners)

  • Wisdom regarding allowing BAMC to lead and for us to guide only where needed
  • Effective communication with BAMC, clear, respectful, and effective

BAMC

  • This first locally-led event will be well-organized and well-executed
  • May the Holy Spirit use BAMC to reach their community, giving them inspired strategies and words for the people

The Jewish Community in Kechene

  • To have no hesitation in coming to this event
  • Open hearts as they attend
  • The Lord to defeat any scheme of the enemy sown in the hearts of the community or local opposing faiths against this event

2026  Zimbabwe Lemba-Led Outreach

October 26–28

This small-scale Medical Clinic will be the first Lemba-run Outreach. It will offer general medical care and readers (eyeglasses). The Outreach will be held in the Manicaland Region (Southeastern Zimbabwe) and will serve the Lemba tribe.

Please Pray

The Lemba Community and Local Leadership

  • God to grant wisdom, strength, and encouragement to the Lemba leaders taking responsibility for organizing and conducting this Outreach
  • God to use this first Lemba-led initiative to strengthen local ownership, leadership, and future opportunities for ministry
  • The Outreach to bear lasting fruit and encourage additional locally-led medical and Gospel-centered initiatives in Zimbabwe

The Medical & Eye Clinic and Patient Care

  • The Clinic to serve the community effectively and that every patient will receive appropriate, compassionate, and respectful, care.
  • Patients to experience not only physical care but also kindness, dignity, hope, and genuine concern for their well-being
  • God to use this simple but meaningful service to demonstrate His love in tangible ways

Gospel Witness and Spiritual Transformation

  • The Gospel of Yeshua (Jesus), the Messiah, to be communicated clearly, lovingly, and faithfully throughout the Outreach. Ask God to prepare the hearts of those who attend the Clinic to hear and respond to the Good News
  • People who are influenced by ancestral worship and witchcraft, asking God to lead them into the truth, freedom, and hope found in Yeshua.  Ask the Holy Spirit to bring conviction, understanding, repentance, and genuine faith among those who hear the Gospel
  • Pastor Tawanda and Messianic Jewish Voice Ministries–Zimbabwe (MJVM-Z) as they lead the prayer tent and minister to individuals who seek spiritual encouragement or prayer. Ask God to draw people to the prayer tent who are burdened, suffering, searching for truth, or in need of hope

Weather

  • Pray for favorable weather during the Outreach, recognizing that late October is spring in Zimbabwe, with potentially hot daytime temperatures and cooler nights. Ask God to protect patients and team members from heat-related illness and dehydration.

Unity and Partnership between JVMI and Local Ministries

  • Pray for a spirit of humility, mutual respect, and cooperation between JVMI staff, MJVM-Z, and Lemba leadership. Ask God to give JVMI staff wisdom as they serve in an observational role, supporting and encouraging the local team without hindering local leadership. Pray that lessons learned during this Outreach will help strengthen future locally-led initiatives
